I’m Him
GOATED Pt. 14- Pastor Dharius Daniels
John 14:6- “Jesus answered.. I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except thru me..”
In order for you to be all God’s called you to be to others, you must be willing to let Jesus be all He’s called to be to you.
Spiritual settling is the worst kind of settling.
We should aim for a life that bears fruit- The Fruit of the Spirit.
When you don’t receive all that He is, you can’t become all that you could be.
“The dogness of the dog is in the dog, but the manness of the man is not in the man-it’s in his relationship with God. You can’t be human without the Divine. The human isn’t just a gang of cells, it’s habitation for the Divine.”-D.T. Niles
We don’t rise to the level of out desire- we live at the level of our understanding.
What we’re currently experiencing from Jesus is limited to what we currently understand about Him.
Mark 6:3-5 “a few sick people and heal them”
A few people got what was available for many, because some people only saw the Carpenter.
In John 14:6- Jesus is reintroducing Himself to people who think they already know Him.
In the Gospel of John there are 7 “I am” statements..
Not just a statement of His identity, He’s revealing who He desires to be to us, personally.
Exodus 3:14- Moses asks God, “who shall I say sent me?” God answered, “I am who I am.. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: “I am has sent me to you.”
“I am the way, the truth, and the life”- John 14:6
Jesus is: my Navigator. He doesn’t just deliver me, He directs me.
I don’t just seek Him to “get me out” of something, I allow Him to lead and direct me, so I don’t have to “get in” to somethings.
Everything shouldn’t have to be learned from experience- when you allow Him to lead.
“I am the Bread of Life”-John 6:15
Jesus is: my Satisfier- Jeremiah 2:!3
It’s one thing to trust God with your salvation, but it’s another thing to trust Him with your satisfaction.
Sin is an indication that I don’t trust Him to satisfy me. Sin is saying “I don’t trust You God, to satisfy what You made”- Oop!
“I am the Light of the World”- John 8:!2
Jesus is: my Clarifier. Darkness is not just a metaphor for evil, but also a metaphor for ignorance.
Darkness increases the likelihood of damage.
“I am the Door”- John 10:9-10- “Whoever enters thru Me will be saved..” “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”
The Door came to you first.
Jesus is: my Access-Giver
If you come thru the door, you’ll find God’s goodness.-
“I am the Good Shepherd”- John 10:11- “The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep”
Jesus is: my Defender
“I am the Resurrection and the Life”- John 11:25
Jesus is: my Reviver
Lazarus represents two things- What you love and what God loves. He represents when what God loves and what you love, dies.
“I am the True Vine”- John 15:21
“He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit” “Every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes so that it will be more fruitful”
Jesus is: my Multiplier
If Jesus is going to be your multiplier, you must let Him be the subtractor.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK?
What part of Jesus have I been consciously or unconsciously resisting?
Which of these 7 am I not allowing Him to be to me?
