Walk In It
Just Jesus Series - PMJ
Ecclesiastes 11:4-
Ecclesiastes is credited to Solomon- a king, philosopher, and teacher, writing from a reflective almost sober perspective on life’s mysteries and limitations.
Chapter 11 is on the wisdom of risks- especially in business, generosity, and life decisions.
Vs.4- is a metaphor for procrastination rooted in fear and over-analysis.
The wisdom of risks- the spiritual and practical discernment to step into the unknown when you’re led by a Word from God, even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed. It’s not just the absence of caution, but the presence of conviction.
Eccl. 11:4-
“Watching the wind”- excessive forecasting, overthinking outcomes
“Looking at the cloud”- fear of uncontrollable circumstances ; faith requires risk.
Kingdom Principle: Progress often requires you to move in imperfect conditions. Kingdom progress is rarely comfortable.
God’s timing and conditions rarely align with human comfort. Stop expecting to be comfortable.
Our ways are not His ways and our thoughts are not His thoughts-
The paralysis of waiting- stop using planning are fear, waiting on certainty, wanting to control what only God can manage.- A Word.
Delayed obedience equals disobedience.
God rarely calls people to move when it’s comfortable, He calls them to move when it’s consecrated.
Comfort= human readiness ; “this feels right”
Consecration- Diving timing ; “this is right in God’s eyes even if it doesn’t feel good”
God doesn’t wait on your convenience, He waits on your commitment.
Consecration is the act of setting something or someone apart exclusively for God’s use, purpose, and glory.
Sometimes failure is protection. God will ruin your plans before the plans ruin you.
Concept:
Set Apart- You’re not for every use- you’re for God’s use.
Surrendered- It’s not about what you want, but what God wants.
Prepared-You remove what doesn’t please God so He can use you freely.
Purified- Not perfect, but available and clean hearted.
Consecration is not about being flawless- it’s about being faithfully available.
Consecration = God I’m Your’s, use me how You want.
vs.11:4- The Danger of Overthinking
What’s the wind? - Culture, people’s opinions, our mood, our bank account
….and never plant the seed- vision, idea, business, ministry
Fear disguised as wisdom is still fear.
The Cost of Inaction- Missed opportunities aren’t just delays, they’re disobedience.
What’s on the other side of your YES?
The harvest isn’t delayed because the soil is bad- it’s delayed because the sower is scared.
5 Things to Overcome:
Inconsistency- The sabotage of potential
Is your potential locked up in your inconsistency?
Many of us have high hopes, but low habits.
Romans 7:15- Paul shows us that intentions without discipline leads to self-sabotage.
God loves you, but He doesn’t trust you. Proverbs 25:19
Inconsistency breaks trust. He promotes those He can trust.
What you don’t reinforce, you eventually reverse. James 1:5-8- This isn’t just about indecision, it’s about commitment. Instability leads to delay. God can’t pour full potential into leaky vessels.
Insecurity- The inner saboteur
It’s not what you see outside, but what you believe inside.
1 Samuel 9:21
Skill without mindset is a short ride.
Numbers 13:33
Jeremiah 1:6-7
Insecurity will always have an excuse where God has given answers.
Insanity- Cycles without change
Wrong patterns = wrong outcomes
Proverbs 26:11
Repeating dysfunction is not loyalty- it’s lunacy.
Break the loop before it breaks you.
Revelation requires application- Matthew 7:26
Incompatible- Passion without purpose
Jonah 1:3- Your passion can pull you where your purpose never sent you.
Right dream, wrong team- Genesis 13:5-9- Abraham loved Lot, but their destinies couldn’t coexist.
Check compatibility before you collaborate.
Amos 3:3- Potential thrives in partnerships that complement your call, not compete with it.
Inaction- The silent killer of purpose
Waiting for the perfect conditions is a trap.
Movement creates momentum- waiting for perfection paralyzes progress.
Perfectionism is a mask of fear. -Oop!
Matthew 25:24
Excellence is obedience, not perfection. Colossians 3:23 ; God is not looking for flawless, He’s looking for the faithful.
James 4:17
Inaction is a slow form of rebellion.
Potential is God’s deposit- unlocking it is your decision. It’s not about who’s against you- but what’s within you.
